Exclusive and flexible budgets for up to 6 people requiring a special day out within 100 miles of their home. Choose the seaside or countryside, visit historic towns & cities, famous landmarks & buildings, go golfing or shopping and all with up to five quality hours doing what you love most but at somewhere different:)
VHE Holiday Hire Day Trips offer a cost effective and flexible excursion at a budget everyone can afford. With a £100 budget it is possible to travel 50 miles (100 miles return) and pay £1 per mile with an hour on location or 30 miles (60 miles return) and stay three hours on location. Simply reserve your day and book the budget that appeals most knowing that on the day of departure you will still have four mileage options with various leisure / waiting times to best suit your needs. (see example of £140 budget cost below) Why not reduce the time on location if an inclement day and travel up to 40 miles further or if a sunny day share your leisure time by visiting an additional attraction or place nearby.......either way the choice is yours to adapt your day to maximise the weather at a budget you can afford!
The maximum distance VHE cover in a day is 200 miles return from your door to your destination within Hidden England & the East Midlands. It is also possible to visit Cambridge, Hunstanton, Ely and the Fens in East of England or York, Harrogate, Filey and Beverley in Yorkshire & Humberside from Newark or Lincoln.
For Newark & Lincoln golfers it is possible to book a four ball at Seacroft (110 miles return) for £150 with VHE (plus £5 or £10 pickup charge) and up to 5 hours leisure time at the golf club. If you need an extra 30 minutes for the 19th hole it will cost £10! If 4 or more golfers & bringing own trolleys you will need to hire the VHE trailer for £50. (Require a fourth player at last minute?....... VHE usual driver plays to 12:)!
VHE Holiday Hire day trips cater for 6 passengers mainly using a Vauxhall Vivaro-E Life 100kw Elite 5dr Auto (traditional lay out or two swivel chairs and table lay out) with up to 143 miles of charge, leather seats, panoramic sunroof and even has its own air conditioning for 5 passengers. (sixth passenger if required sits with driver and costs an extra £20)
Membership Available?
If you enjoy regular day trips out to the seaside, country houses or to see friends in any of these regions VHE annual membership of £25 is ideal for you. Upon joining members are allocated a £10 loyalty / eco voucher which can be used after their first trip or journey. Members are able to book Friday to Sunday trips and receive up to 4 stamps worth £8 on any holiday hire booking towards their next £10 loyalty voucher. (see all membership benefits on home page)
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
VHE "Sit & Wait" service is available for passengers who reside in Areas A, B & C. (see below)
VHE designed a unique pricing matrix starting from a minimum fare of £60 to cover up to 20 miles and a one hour waiting time at your destination or if you prefer on the day to amend your booking (no charge) for the same £60 fare you can choose to increase the mileage to cover a return distance of 30 miles and decrease the drivers waiting time by 30 minutes. Why not book a pub meal at your local as for a 10 mile return trip the driver will stay by the location for 90 minutes and this service costs from £60. Extra time required cost £10 per 30 minutes.
The optimum budget cost within the VHE price matrix is £140 which allows for a maximum 5 hrs waiting time and 100 miles at your destination. If you prefer to swap some of your waiting time for more miles and for the same budget of £140 you can increase the mileage by up 140 miles (£1 per mile) by sacrificing 2 hours waiting time at your destination.(see blue colour code below.)
Between VHE budget costs of £160 & £190 VHE have highlighted below samples of the different options (see yellow colour code below) per budget cost. Each of the four mileage & time options per budget cost are available and follow in the same format as the £150 & £200 budget examples.

Wherever possible within the price budget matrix the driver will be flexible but it makes for a smoother start if passengers are as accurate as possible when working out their preferred budget.
If you prefer to travel further afield or to more than one destination VHE offer up to a 200 mile round trip to your door and for as little as £1 per mile and three hours leisure time! (see red colour code below) To achieve the maximum time of 5 hrs on a 200 mile return trip VHE charge £220. (£10 per 30 minutes extra)

Passengers are encouraged to estimate their mileage to their chosen destination(s) (and back) on their enquiry form safe in the knowledge that for whichever budget price booked there is a margin of up to an extra 40 miles before the price increases. The minimum waiting time is 30 minutes and given the margin of error VHE don't offer any refunds for mileage not used.
Minor adjustments to the mileage do occur on the day and if you travel over the maximum mileage option for your chosen budget but don't want to reduce your waiting time please pay the driver £1 for every mile over. e.g. paid £80, total mileage travelled on the day is 45 miles & required standard 2 hours leisure time, extra cost £5.
VHE mix and match price matrix is designed for a maximum eight hour day, a maximum waiting time of 5 hours & a minimum waiting time of 30 minutes per day.
If the driver works longer than an eight hour day due to unforeseen travel conditions the first 30 minutes is complimentary. Over 30 minutes and up to an hour VHE standard charge of £10 applies and if more than nine hours VHE charge £10 per 15 minutes. A similar price structure applies for VHE specials but these are based on nine & ten hour days as listed below. If any further mileage is required for whatever reason over 200 miles (225, 250 or 400 miles applies on special days out) the extra cost is £2 per mile.
VHE SPECIAL DAYS start from £200 and is based on a nine hour day, up to 200 miles (unless specials) and parking costs for a maximum 4 hours.
Prices for all VHE specials are based on a minimum four hours of leisure time with a possible extra half hour per day dependent on traffic conditions and clients request such as additional pickups and drop offs.

NORFOLK & SUFFOLK SPECIALS
- Hunstanton, Burnham Market, Creake Abbey & Sandringham.
- Ely, St. Ives, Houghton Mill & Fenland attractions
- Wells, Blankney & Sheringham or Cromer cost £225, covers up to £225 miles & four hours parking.
- Bury St. Edmonds, Ely & Newmarket or Fenland attractions cost £225, covers up to 225 miles & four hours parking.
HISTORIC SITE SPECIALS
- Two or more Hidden England Treasure Houses. (please ask about VHE exclusive arrangements)
COASTAL OVERNIGHT SPECIALS
- Scarborough, Whitby and Robins Hoods Bay.
- Great Yarmouth and the Broads.
- Southwold, Alderburgh and Thorpeness
- Southwold and Lowestoft plus wildlife park or nature reserve.
- The cost to include drivers accommodation, all parking costs, nine hour days & up to 400 miles is £450. (Slight changes are accommodated)
ALL HOLIDAY HIRE TRIPS
If over one hour is lost from the allocated waiting time due to traffic delays, change of plans, inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances VHE, if requested, will allocate £2 worth of points towards members next £10 loyalty card. Only applies for members.
EXTRAS
If driving whilst with passengers on board between 6am & 7am or between 7pm & 10pm VHE charge £10 extra & if between 10pm to 6am £30 extra.
All parking charges & road tolls or congestion charges incurred are charged at cost (unless VHE specials where parking is included) with cash payment accepted.
VHE hire out a bike rack for up to three people at £30, a small trailer for £50 & a small table and four chairs for £10.
VHE PICK UP SURCHARGES (additional pickups £5)

AREA A
F.O.C. for local residents who live in villages less than a 10 mile radius of Carlton Le Moorland. (Majority of these villages lie within the A46, A15, A17 triangle.)
AREA B
VHE charge £5 for pickups from Newark.
AREA C
VHE charge £10 for pickups from Lincoln postcodes and Rushcliffe Borough plus the market towns of Grantham, Sleaford, Bingham, Southwell and Bottesford. In addition all the villages South of A17, West of A15, North of A52 and East of A46. (excluding those in Area A & Newark postcodes) Fables customers £5.
CHARGING NOTES.
Maximum vehicles distance is 110 miles before a 35 minute service stop required to charge up to 110 miles. Wherever possible charging will take place without the passengers in the vehicle but if this isn't possible 30 minutes are added to the clients day, if within drivers hours and if requested free of charge.
Payment & Membership Benefits
VHE require a non-refundable deposit of £25 via bacs, card, cheque or cash to secure Holiday Hire bookings (specials and bookings of £100 or over the deposit is £50). The balance may be paid prior to departure or on the day of travel.
Members earn points (stamps) on every trip:1 stamp for spending £50 & over, 2 stamps for £100 & over, 3 stamps for £150 & over & 4 stamps for £200 or over! (5 stamps = a £10 loyalty voucher)

General Information
For everyone's comfort & safety VHE use the front passenger seat sparingly. VHE adhere to Government guidelines at the time regarding masks, gloves & sanitizing. Air is circulated & vehicles are non smoking with frequent stops accommodated.
VHE pay 1% to Lincs. & Notts. Air Ambulance & local historic building restoration projects on all bookings over £100 & make a 50% donation on members "tips" over £5 to endangered animal charities.
